I've had my LCP for a couple of weeks and have put about 100 rounds through it on two separate occasions - 50 rounds per session. Towards of each of the session I've encoutered a "stove pipe" issue. Nov 11, 2023 · Hello, Yesterday, I just bought a brand new Ruger LCP Max 380 Elite (red trigger). I had to buy it online and do an FFL transfer because I couldn't find the elite locally (so I could not test the trigger). I have never fired it. I am right handed. I brought it home and began testing the trigger with my RIGHT hand. Do a thorough cleaning after each range trip. All of these small pistols are barely teetering on the edge of reliability because of how small they are. Even if you don’t shoot it, it’s not a bad idea to clean and lube it maybe once a month. The gun attracts a lot of lint and rust just front being carried. Reply.
