Christchurch Botanic Gardens are pretty simple, but have a few differences than others I’ve visited. The Avon river that surrounds the gardens and the punt rides are a unique addition. The rose garden, dahlia border, Cunningham house, and large trees were my favorites – while the rest was a bit below average in my opinion. What a delight to discover the Christchurch Botanic Gardens with large shady trees, interesting plant collections and beautiful conservatories. We took the hop-on-hop-off tour and gained a deeper appreciation of the gardens especially the stories behind significant trees and the importance of the collections from a global perspective.
